i would rather be paralyzed
and never walk again
i would rather be blind
than to see what's never meant to happen
i would rather be deaf
than to hear what i loathe to hear
i would rather have amnesia
so i wouldn't be aware of what i will lose
i would rather be frozen
to feel nothing but nothing
i would rather be mute
than to utter "it's okay"
when all i meant is i give up.
